Here are 6 tips that should help improve any email Marketing Campaign:

Experiment with subject lines

Most email broadcast systems allow you to try a number of different subject lines. The subject line is the
most important aspect of your campaign to test as it directly influences how many people open and read the email. In fact the best subject line can more than double the readership for your campaign.

Give and You Shall Receive

One way to set your campaign apart from the competition is to offer some expert advice and guidance. People are always appreciative of useful advice and will reward you with higher click through and open rates.

Segment and personalise

People like to receive relevant information. The best tactic is to create a number of campaigns related to different products and services. Each customer/ prospect should only receive the campaigns that they are likely to be interested in based on all of the previous purchasing history and demographic data available to you.

Timing

Research has consistently shown that Tuesday, Wednesday And Thursday afternoons are the best times to broadcast email campaigns.

Frequency

You should avoid bombarding your customers with emails. Any more than 1 email per fortnight is likely to lead to very high unsubscribe rates. Likewise if you are too infrequent then it will be very difficult to build up a long term relationship with your customers.

Use a Clean, Targeted Mailing List

A good starting point for a prospecting email campaign is to purchase a targeted data list from a specialist provider. This will be fully populated with each prospect’s full name and whichever contact details you require to follow up your campaign. You can also purchase lists that are segmented by demographic data, purchasing behaviour or industry sector in order to effectively personalise your email campaign.
